Quanta has always aimed to support digital teams in the Web Performance Management. In 5 years, we established ourselves as reference in the French market by attracting more than 500 sites. Loyal to our ambition of always better meeting the needs and expectations of our customers, we place Real User Monitoring (RUM) at the heart of our strategy in 2018 by acquiring the WebPerf.io solution.

The acquisition of WebPerf.io to meet a growing market demand

Our mission has always been to offer the Digital, Marketing and E-Commerce Departments a global solution for Web Performance Management.
Following a growing demand from the market and our customers, we wanted to integrate a feature of Real User Monitoring to offer an new dimension in the web performance analysis by integrating the navigation data of real users. WebPerf.io, which has become, in the past years, a reference in the identification and analysis of visitor segments, was therefore the ideal solution to integrate. This new acquisition will allow us to respond more quickly and efficiently to market demands.

Real User Monitoring, a complementary feature to offer a 360° Web Performance solution

Until now, we have been following a Web Performance approach by simulating navigation scenarios for defined virtual users. The objective is to follow the evolution of the response times of a purchase scenario for example, without any effects of external factors.
This approach of STM (Synthetic Transaction Monitoring) is typically useful for measuring the impact of a change on web sites. It is precious to settle a process of continuous improvement since the measurements are calibrated and comparable, vs the RUM where each user has its own configuration that impacts the results.

Real User Monitoring

The RUM enables to follow the Web Performance and to measure how each elements impacts on the conversion rates for a specific segment of real users. It is now possible to know, for example, that a new feature creates slowdowns for a strategic mobile user segment. Quanta will then offer a 360° view of the Web Performance of a site by offering Analytics and Alerting Business functionalities, Web Performance management, communication between the different actors of the site and from now on Real User Monitoring (RUM).

Our technical team is working hard to integrate the WebPerf.io solution. A private BETA program should be launched soon. To find out more, do not hesitate to contact us!

We’ve been saying for a while now, that QUANTA was to make a big announcement during OroVibe, the event dedicated to the new CMS for BtoB e-commerce, OroCommerce, well … It finally happened!

As Guillaume, co-founder of QUANTA, said during his conference “Managing Web Performance for a faster B2B Experience“, our web performance monitoring tool now has a brand new profiler specifically designed for websites using OroCommerce.

With this tool, unique on the market, you will now have an application to boost the web performance of any OroCommerce website!

Aside from the technical success and the great potential that such a profiler represents for our customers, it also marks a new step for QUANTA.

This OroCommerce profiler, added to our Magento and PHP profilers, allows us to extend our expertise in web performance to the BtoB segment.

How does this profiler works?

This tool pushes further the understanding of the execution of our application, and helps you identify very precisely the possible sources of slowdowns in your sales funnel, from the sending of the request by the user to the loading times of the page.

E-companies and their teams will thus have all the information they need to optimize their loading times and improve their conversion rates. The profiler, by bringing up all the events that occurred, directly in the Quanta application, will also allow them to intervene quickly in the event of an incident.

Unique on the market, this profiler, by improving the performance of OroCommerce websites, should contribute to the development of sales in the B2B segment, which many experts believe will explode over the next few years. According to FEVAD, B2B could represent 24% of worldwide sales in 2020.

This is truly a new tool for B2B web performance.

How to install the profiler on your OroCommerce website?

Nothing could be simpler, just go to the app, and ask for the beta version of the OroCommerce profiler! 😉

Matthieu Rosinski, Head of Operations at QUANTA, (and supreme leader of the Tech Team 😉 ), after testing the performance and scalability of the platform, will be conducting precise tests on the Oro modules for the OroWiki reference blog. 😉

We can attest to this: you sometimes experience relatively complex application problems in your production environments. Complex enough to make your dev team go bald!

Why ? Simply because the complexity of your online stores is growing with the multiplication of your digital stakes.

So how can we help you identify the glitch in the gears ? The one that is likely to block your checkout page or even your cart?

For 3 years, Quanta has developed a profiler for PHP which has the particularity to monitor at all times your applications in your production environment. But we wanted to go even further!

We are proud to announce that Quanta now integrates Blackfire, the leading profiling solution for development teams.

illu-integration-blackfire-in-quanta

This integration enables you to bridge the gap between two important technical fields:

  • Quanta covers the perimeter of business issues on your production environment: monitoring your sales funnel, checking the intricacies of each configuration, and identifying backend and frontend features that will potentially increase the loading times for your users.
  • Blackfire covers the entire perimeter of your app development cycle so that each feature is properly tested, benchmarked, validated before it reaches production.

The connection between the two tools allows you to finally merge these two universes.

Some examples :

  • During an alert (response time too long, or HTTP error code), you can now generate, from Quanta’s app, a full Blackfire trace for the execution of a page in the production environment. This trace is extremely exhaustive and allows the developer to understand every detail of what happens in the prod, without having to try to reproduce the error in the development environment (which is always an arduous task. Dev-ops among you know it too well!).
  • You can also create Blackfire test scenarios, based on the web scenarios configured in Quanta. It’s an advantage in the sens that the developer and the ecommerce manager then share a common body of knowledge.
  • You were in a meeting and you found out that there was a problem with the production? Everything has been automatically saved in Quanta; and now, with the level of detail allowed by the Blackfire solution. Enough to rejoice any developer who will be in charge of analyzing the problem. 😉
  • By configuring the Blackfire integration in your dashboard, you will have direct access to Blackfire analytics performed automatically or manually on your website, in the Quanta app.

It’s been a while, but we’ve finally decided to make a new blog post about our exciting new features!

It’s not that until then, no new features were created; but up to this point, our amazing (yes, amazing!) tech team has been working in the shadows. But, no more. No more! From now on, we’re going to tell, loud and clear, all of our amazing team’s feats.

So, for this week’s new features, we’re going to talk about the new “Dashboards” menu (signaled by this icon screen-shot-2016-10-19-at-18-58-29), which contains the Business, and Favorites tabs.

Without further ado, let’s push ahead!

Dashboards : Business

The first new feature on our agenda today is: the Business dashboard.

From now on, in QUANTA, you’ll find a new menu, called “Dashboards”, with two different tabs in it. And the first one, as you’ve guessed, is “Business”.

The Business dashboard features 4 different widgets, essentials to the marketing experts, head of e-commerce, and other business moguls:

  • Turnover: Using past and current turnover data, this widget estimates the turnover loss due to slow page load times, and downtime. Simply said, the Turnover widget helps visualise the loss in income, due to unavailability and slow response of the website. It is a useful widget when trying to estimate the cost of a technical incident on the online store.

  • E-commerce sales funnel: It’s quite simple actually! This widget monitors the availability and average response time, of each step of the classic sales funnel (Home > Category > Subcategory > Product > Cart, for those who weren’t following 😉 ) on your website. As we’ve said before (and we’re not the only ones to say that, Google and Amazon did before us!), time is money. And in terms of e-commerce, longer loading times equal to loss of money. So it is a must to monitor the web performance of each step of the sales funnel, simply put, to keep customers.

illustration_chart_sales_funnel

  • Top pages : It lists the top 10 most viewed pages of your website thanks to Google Analytics, and estimates the additional revenue you could gain after optimization, based on their response time, traffic and a bit of our magic. For example, if your Home Page views turns out to represent 10% of your total viewed pages, then it is in your best interest to concentrate your optimization on it, in terms of SEO, load time, availability, …etc. 10% seems to be a small slice in the cake, but if optimizing it could result in thousands of euros in additional revenue, each year…

illustration_chart_roi

  • Last incidents: This widget is a simple abstract of all the technical analysis that are already available in Quanta. If you don’t have time to look at all the graphs outlining problems with your CPU, ping time, server load, …etc., just sneak a peek at this widget and you’ll know exactly what was the uptime and downtime of your e-commerce website, during a given time period. Let’s be clear, if the numbers are in the red, then that means it’s high time to optimize web performance, and call in the experts of your tech team. This widget also estimates the loss due specifically to availability issues.

illustration_chart_last_incidents

The Business dashboard is completely customizable. It allows you to easily get a quick glance at what interests you the most, whether it is availability (Last incidents widget), SEO ( Top pages  widget), …etc.

The gif below gives a quick tour of the Business dashboard so, enjoy it! But the best way to discover these 4 widgets and find out if they can be helpful in your daily tasks, just log in to your Quanta account and test it out.

Dashboards : Favorites

The idea behind the Favorites dashboard is to allow our users to draw a parallel between seemingly unrelated graphs from our monitoring tool.

Let me explain.

In Quanta, you can find analysis, on any number of subjects, technicals or not. This different analysis are then classified under several tabs: Availability, Performance, Load Tests, Business, Network, System and Web scenarios. But these tabs are just a matter of organisation and presentation.

If you want to draw a parallel between the Transaction revenue per minute (Business tab) and the Average load time per page (Web Scenarios tab), and the Availability (Availability tab), because you’re smart and want to find out how much the last incident cost you !!!!!, then you just have to tag these 3 graphs as Favorites, and find them displayed in the Favorites dashboard.

There, you’ll be able to analyze them precisely, identify technical problems, and demonstrate to your marketing and technical teams the link between a well maintained and optimized website, and a comfortable profit.

If you want a quick tutorial on the Favorites dashboard, just have a look at the gif below.

gif-dashboard-favoris

And with this, our tour of this week’s new features comes to an end! I really hope you liked it, and that you’ll find our new marketing-oriented features to be of interest.

Two blog posts on new more technical features will follow, because we’ll soon do a piece on PHP 7 / Magento 2 / and other surprises, and a more thorough one on the Varnish 4 update.

And keep in mind that everything you need to know about how to use Quanta is explained here!
